Repositree is a small web application for converting a public GitHub repository into a text file tree. A developer enters the repository URL and generates a nested view of its folders and files, then copies that structure for use in a README or other documentation. This keeps the task centered on explaining a project layout rather than manually typing indentation and branch characters.
The interface is deliberately narrow: a repository URL field, a Generate Tree action and a reminder that the repository must be public. The project documentation describes one-click copying with visual feedback and support for a light or dark appearance based on the system theme. Its own example shows the source folders, components, utilities and configuration files in a form that can be pasted into documentation.
The application source is published under the MIT license, which also gives developers a way to inspect or adapt the implementation. Public-repository access is an important limit: entering a URL does not grant permission to read a private project. Repositree is most useful when a contributor needs a readable overview of a repository, not a replacement for code review, architecture diagrams or documentation of how the code behaves.
