MoroccoAPI is a community-built API for Moroccan public open datasets. Its current homepage highlights geographic data for regions, provinces and communes, including Arabic and French names. The project puts a consistent JSON interface and documentation in front of information that otherwise may be spread across documents, spreadsheets and differently structured portals.
The public repository describes versioned contracts, source attribution, licensing and visible update history as core requirements. It is an independent open-source project, not a government identity-lookup service, and explicitly excludes personal-data lookups such as citizen profiles and identity-card numbers. Its code is under Apache-2.0, while the underlying data keeps dataset-specific licensing rules, so the code licence should not be applied automatically to every response. MoroccoAPI fits developers building geographic selectors, reference-data features or research tools who want a documented route to reusable Moroccan public data and its provenance.
