CertAvert checks public SSL and TLS certificates and alerts site operators before they expire. Its one-off checker shows a certificate's expiry, issuer and whether it is trusted for the requested hostname. The monitoring service checks from the public internet twice a day, without requiring software on the monitored server. That outside-in approach is intended to catch renewal failures that would otherwise first appear as certificate warnings in a visitor's browser.
The service also describes certificate-chain checks, supported TLS versions, names on certificates, custom ports and domain-registration dates. Email alerts are available for approaching expiry, while paid plans add alerts for problems such as unreachable hosts, revoked certificates or broken chains. Its certificate report is aimed at people who need dated records for an audit. CertAvert is focused on certificates rather than general website uptime or page-content monitoring. Free checks are available without an account, with subscriptions covering ongoing monitoring features.
