ULDA is presented by its maker as "client-side encryption with a simple JavaScript API". It was shared on Show HN in 2026, where it received 21 upvotes on Hacker News.
According to the vendor, ULDA lets applications work with ordinary JSON while it handles client-side encryption and synchronization on infrastructure the user controls, aimed at JavaScript and TypeScript apps with a self-hosted server.
The design has three components with separate responsibilities: an application SDK that works with JSON, encrypts it on the client and synchronizes it across connected devices; a protocol engine that creates public witnesses and checks that one state can verifiably follow another; and a storage endpoint that checks updates, stores encrypted resources and delivers changes to subscribers.
The vendor says the server only ever sees resource IDs, sizes and traffic, while content stays encrypted end to end, and that state transitions are verifiable through its witness mechanism.
