shim-cli is an open-source (Apache-2.0) companion that runs on your machine next to Claude Code, Codex, Copilot CLI and VS Code. It inspects what your coding agent sends, finds secrets and personal data in the outbound content, masks them where the client allows it, and shows what each session sent and cost.
It installs in a minute with uv on macOS and Linux (Python 3.10+), and is aimed at developers who want local visibility and control over the data their AI coding tools transmit.
