Landed Cost Kit is a browser calculator for small brands importing physical products into the United States. It combines a supplier quote, freight, other import costs and confirmed duty information to estimate a shipment total and landed cost per unit. Users can then include sales fees and other selling costs to examine contribution per unit, contribution margin and a selling price for a chosen target margin. Its scope is cost planning rather than product classification or customs filing.
The free calculator accepts up to ten SKUs at a time through a form or CSV file. Shared freight and other costs can be allocated by quantity, value, weight or volume, which lets an importer choose an allocation method appropriate to a mixed shipment. Duty can come from a confirmed rate or the broker's amount. Exports include figures and their assumptions. The companion tariff-impact workflow compares scenarios chosen by the user; the homepage's worked example explicitly uses hypothetical rates rather than presenting them as current tariffs.
Unknown duty is left marked instead of silently treated as zero. The product also flags complex cases, including per-weight duties, quotas, exclusions and antidumping or countervailing duties, for checking rather than guessing a result. It does not replace a customs broker or offer customs or tax advice. The site says the free calculator keeps nothing on its servers. Larger batches, saved shipment history, sharing and alerts appear as waitlist interests, not as established features of the current free tool. This distinction keeps the listing focused on what an importer can use now.
