Hatch is an open-source Python project manager with tools for builds, development environments, testing and releases. Its current documentation describes reproducible builds through a plugin-based build system, environment configuration with custom scripts and support for managing Python installations. These functions are accessed through a command-line interface rather than a hosted project dashboard.
The project also documents static analysis backed by Ruff, a script runner with explicit Python and dependency requirements, version updates, project templates and publishing to package indexes such as PyPI. Hatch is distributed under the MIT license. It is intended to give maintainers a consistent set of project workflows while still allowing configuration and plugins. A team adopting it should review the build and environment settings of its own package, especially when replacing an existing release process or supporting several Python versions.
