Halv is a desktop workspace for running coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex alongside other supported providers. It uses the user's existing agent plans and brings sessions into a shared interface with terminal panes, project approvals, change inspection and revert controls. The application and its local optimization components are published as open source.
Local features include a code index, command-output filtering and context compression. A separate paid Halv Cloud product adds task routing and a cross-session dashboard, rather than making those server-side features part of the free local application. The site publishes benchmark results for its cost-saving claims, but those results are specific to its tested workflows and should not be treated as a guaranteed reduction for every project. Agent subscriptions and any model usage remain separate considerations.
