Bits is a small daemon that runs on your own machine as an always-on personal agent. Conversations live in a local SQLite journal, and what the agent knows is stored as Markdown files you can open, edit or delete yourself - no vendor cloud holding your memory hostage.
The privacy model is explicit: the vendor says there is no Bits server, and only model calls leave your machine. Point it at a local model through Ollama or LM Studio and nothing leaves at all.
Instead of answering with walls of text, Bits responds with usable interfaces, and a connectors system and GitHub repo round out the open-source project.
